Well, I have read the William James material. I am interested to see what we all think. One of the things I think most often when I reflect upon my parenting is that I have missed the opportunity to instill some habits I would like to see in my childrens' behavior. I believe that these habits were the "other side" of a few things that I did deliberately, I just underestimated the importance of balancing objectives (my objectives, that is).
That's precisely how my time ended up too.
